Throughout the year, staff and students at Helena College produce (or are included in) a number of photographs and videos, taken during College events, incursions, excursions or through their participation in an activity such as sports, productions, musical performances and more. The College's use of student images is governed by our Use of Student Images Policy, which is available for parents to review on our website HERE, and on SEQTA Engage.
Parents and carers have the right to specify how their child/ren’s image may be used according to personal preferences or legally binding agreements. We are aware that online use is often the area of most concern to families, and as such, parents and carers are asked to confirm their choice for how their child's image may be used.
The options available to parents are:
- OPTION 1: No restrictions on the use of my child’s image
- OPTION 2: My child’s image may NOT be used on the College social media accounts
- OPTION 3: My child’s image may NOT be used on the College social media accounts OR the College website
If the parents/guardian/carers (or student) wish to withdraw or change the consent, it is their responsibility to notify the College in writing, or by updating their preference in the online self-service portal, Parent Lounge. Parents/carers who do not provide their preference will be assumed to be selecting Option 3.
